Rural Support for High School Students

WIRE (Work-Based Integration Into Rural Education)

Free academic support and career assistance is available for middle and high school students in eight rural schools (Glendale, Days Creek, Riddle, Douglas, Camas Valley, Yoncalla, North Douglas, and Elkton) to plan and prepare for college. Establish your support system to help reach your goals

Program Includes:

  • Academic assistance.
  • Trips to college campuses and career exploration events.
  • Career counseling and exploration.
  • College planning and exploration.
  • Financial literacy – FAFSA and scholarship assistance.
  • One-on-one advising.
  • Helping you pick the correct dual credit class for your career goals.
  • Wrap around services provided when transitioning to college.
  • Support in finding experiential learning activities (apprenticeships, internships, student teaching, study abroad, clinicals, fieldwork) before graduation or program completion.
