ARP Funds Report

Spring Term 2023

Sixth distribution of ARP funds

On April 13, 2023 emails were sent to students registered for Spring term advising them that the remainder of the ARP funds would be distributed via an application process. There were 271 recipients of these funds, awarded as follows:

$700 – 141 Full time students
$350 – 98 Part time students
$250 – 1 Student awarded separately with remaining balance
$125 – 31 Students who had already received FRO, ETPL and/or Prosperity grant funds this term

For a total amount awarded of $137,125.00. No additional funds remain.

ARP – Communications

Umpqua Community College will be distributing the remainder of our American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) funds via an application process for students who are experiencing an immediate financial need.

The dollar amount will be determined based on the number of applications received

The application will become available at 8:00 a.m. on April 13, 2023, and will remain open until April 24, 2023, at 4:30 p.m. Students will receive funds based on their stated immediate needs.

Fall Term 2022

Fifth distribution of ARP funds

On November 2nd emails were sent to students registered for Fall term advising them that the remainder of the ARP funds would be distributed via an application process. 151 students were awarded $250 each for a total amount awarded of $37,750.00. A balance of $6,164 was carried forward to Winter term.

ARP – Communications

Apply for ARPA Funding for Financial Needs

Umpqua Community College will be distributing the remainder of our American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) funds via an application process for students who are experiencing an immediate financial need.

Due to the limited balance, funds will be capped at $150 per application.

The application will become available at 8:00 a.m. on November 3, 2022, and will remain open until November 7, 2022, at 5:00 p.m. Approximately 310 students will receive funds based on students’ stated immediate needs.

Summer Term 2022

Umpqua Community College (UCC) signed and submitted to the U.S. Department of Education the Certification and Agreement required to access the Higher Education Emergency Relief Funds under Cares Act on April 13, 2020 and received CRRSAA HEERF II grant award automatically.

The total amount of funds that UCC has received from the Department pursuant to the institution’s Certification and Agreement [for] Emergency Financial Aid Grants to Students is: $2,356,764

For the Summer term, the estimated total number of students at the institution eligible to participate in programs under Section 484 in Title IV of the Higher Education Act of 1965 and thus eligible to receive Emergency Financial Aid Grants to students under CRRSAA was 948. Some students were automatically eligible and other were sent an application with the option to apply.

Additional funds are also being made available to students registered in undergraduate level courses who have not completed the FAFSA including, GED and ESL students. Funds will be disbursed based on enrollment status; 12 credits and up is full time and 1-11 credits is part time. It has been determined that based on your EFC and enrollment status, you are eligible to receive $XXX.00.

The College will be distributing these funds directly to you the week of August 15th using the distribution method you have selected for refunds (check or direct deposit).
